The 317 acre lake is located northeast of Shelbyville off KY 1779 and is also visible from US 60 between Shelbyville and Clay Village.
The lake is primarily used for fishing. It is one of the best bass lakes for its size in the state. Fishery include: largemouth bass, hybrid stripers, catfish, crappie, bluegill and rock fish. Many fishermen report catching fish over 5 pounds regularly. The record largemouth bass for this lake is over 10 pounds.
Boats may be launched after hours using the honor system.
2017 Thursday Night Guist Creek Bass Tournament

All Thursday night tournaments will be held from 6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Some Saturday morning tournaments (bolded dates) have been added and they will be held from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
There is a $40.00 entry fee.
The tournament will now be a 3 fish limit instead of 5.
There will be a $15.00 membership fee. This will pay for weekly awards along with money given out.
There are 14 tournaments scheduled and you must fish 7 to qualify for the classic. This means you and your partner both must have fished 7 tournaments each to fish the classic.
The Big Bass Shootout is 6/3/17. The Big Bass Shootout will count towards the classic. A $120.00 entry fee is due by 5/15/17. Our goal is to have enough boats to give away $500/hr.
